Sunday 1st May 1994, Dartmoor Marshalls 100, early afternoon, Mary Tavy, circa 90 miles done.
I was walking alone, the three leaders were over an hour ahead of me, Nick and Chris an hour behind.
To my surprise sat in the garden of a tea shop on the road side were Brian and Barbara. They having tea (and cake no doubt!) and hoping to watch walkers go by.
I stopped and had a few words with them, was offered and took a piece of home made fudge. Then I continued. Well continued for about 30 yards when I promptly turned back and helped myself to another piece of fudge as it was so good.

So the power of Barbara's fudge added another 60 yards onto my walk.
